Collection of use of personal information
Personal information is the data that can be used to uniquely identify or contact an individual person.
You may be asked to provide your personal information anytime you are in contact with us (like when you fill out our contact form or sign up for our newsletter). You are not required to provide the information we requested. However if choose not to do so, we may be unable to provide you with our products or services or respond to your inquiries.
What information we collect
When you visit our websites, use our mobile applications, contact us, or subscribe to our newsletters, we may collect a variety of information from you. Here are examples of the types of information we collect:
Browser and Device Data. We may automatically collect browser characteristics (such as type of browser and version), device information (such as your mobile device ID, model and manufacturer), operating system, IP address, language preferences, and referring URLs.
Usage Metrics. We may automatically collect usage information, crash reports, session times, session durations, button engagements, and navigation paths while you are using our websites or mobile applications.
Geo-Location Information. We may request permission to track location-based information while you are using our mobile application to provide location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device's settings.
Push Notifications Identifiers. We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or the mobile application. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device's settings.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect or receive from you for the following purposes:
To deliver products or services to you. We may use your information to provide you with a requested product or service.
To protect our products and services. We may use your information as part of our efforts to keep our software safe and secure (for example, for fraud monitoring and prevention).
To respond to legal requests and prevent harm. If we receive a subpoena or other legal request, we may review the information we hold to determine how to respond.
To send you marketing and promotional communications. We may use the personal information you send to us for our marketing purposes, if this is in accordance with your marketing preferences. You can opt-out of our marketing emails at any time.
For other legitimate business purposes. We may use your information for other business purposes such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, and to evaluate and improve our products, services, marketing, and your experience.
Disclosure to third parties
We do not share personal information with anyone, except for the few exceptions listed below.
To provide our products and services, we work together with other companies who provide information processing services. We only share personal information with these companies if you have agreed to the transfer, or if it is permitted by data protection law. The information we share is limited to the data necessary for the third parties to provide their services. These companies are are obliged to protect your information in accordance with data protection law. The companies are bound by our instructions, and are not allowed to use the shared data for any other purpose.
We use these companies for the following services:
- MixPanel: Metrics and analytics processing
- Substack: Newsletter signup and distribution
- Landen: Website hosting and contact form
- Google Apps for Business: Email
We may also share personal information if disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request; to enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof; to detect, prevent, and otherwise address fraud or security issues; and to protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of our community or the public as required or permitted by law.
If SpaceTime is involved in a reorganization, merger, or sale, the information we collect may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Protection of personal information
We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage, and processing practices as well as security measures including appropriate encryption and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data. For example, the content of your tasks (title, time, location, notes, completion status, etc.) are stored locally on your device and not transmitted to a remote server.
However, no method of sending or storing data is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of information which is transmitted to us.
Access to personal information
You are entitled to request information about the personal data stored by us, to have incorrect data correct, or to request the freezing or deletion of your data. You are also entitled to the portability of your personal data. You may export your task data directly from the Settings page in our mobile application. Further, you may object to the use of your data at any time with effect for the future.
The may, however, be cases where we are not allowed to delete your data in its entirety as a result of legal retention periods. We may also decline requests if they pose a risk to the privacy of others, would be extremely impractical, or for which access is not required by law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, or equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction, unless their parent provided verifiable consent. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a minor without consent of their guardian, we will take steps to delete this information as soon as possible.
